The latest victim of a homicide in Yakima has been identified.
Kyle Kiefel, 38, died Sunday in the shooting, Yakima County Chief Deputy Coroner Marshall Slight said. An autopsy revealed he died from a gunshot wound to the abdomen, Slight said.
The Yakima Police Department is investigating. The shooting took place around 4:50 p.m. near the intersection of North Sixth Street and East Yakima Avenue, a release from YPD said. Kiefel was taken by private vehicle to the hospital, where he died.
The Yakima Association of Faith Communities will conduct a "moment of blessing" at the intersection at noon Thursday. The association performs the ceremonies to bring peace and prayers to area where a violent crime was committed.
A GoFundMe page has been started for Kiefel's funeral expenses.
