Interstate 40 westbound reopened at 3:20 p.m. after being closed at Guilford College Road for about three hours while police investigated an apparent vehicle fire, Greensboro Police said in a news release.
Police spokeswoman Annette Ayres said a call came in at about 12:30 p.m. as a "vehicle fire assistance'' request.
No information about the vehicle, its operator or the cause of the fire was disclosed.
