KANSAS CITY, Mo. (WDAF) -- The Kansas Highway Patrol released a video and statement on X Wednesday morning describing a weekend crash where a state trooper and a Kansas City, Kansas, police officer were hit on Interstate 635.

According to KHP, just before 8 a.m. on Saturday, a KCKPD officer and a trooper had stopped on southbound I-635 to respond to a non-injury crash caused by the snowy weather conditions.

During the stop, KHP said the trooper had been talking to the officer when he saw a car lose control and start driving toward him.

In the video provided by the highway patrol, the trooper can be seen telling the KCK officer to "watch out" as he ran away. The officer then tried to drive away in the patrol car; however, the KCKPD and KHP troopers' cars were both hit.

According to KHP, no one was injured in the crash.

"The outcome of this crash was mitigated because Master Trooper Garver and the KCK officer remained vigilant of their surroundings," KHP said. "As we continue to enter the winter weather months, remember to slow down for the road conditions and move over for all first responders."
