DERBY, Kan. (KSNW) - A man is dead after a farming incident occurred outside of Derby on Wednesday.

It happened around 2 p.m. in the 10000 block of S. 127th St. East.

According to the Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office, it appears that a 70-year-old man was working on a combine when something collapsed. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

"This was totally the wrong time of year, obviously, with the holidays coming up. Not expected," said Lt. Steve Osen with the SCSO. "Our main concern right now is what the sheriff's office can do for them (the family)."
