Buying frozen foods in bulk is often cost-effective, as these foods tend to have long shelf lives. Costco offers a wide array of frozen foods at great prices -- some of which are more popular than others.
In a recent Costco Reddit thread, one user asked for the warehouse club members to share their must-have frozen items from Costco. The thread garnered over 1,000 comments, with some foods receiving numerous rave reviews.
Here's a look at some of the top affordable frozen foods Costco shoppers love.
Many Costco shoppers chimed in to express their love for these boneless, skinless chicken breast portions.
"Best quality chicken chunks for boneless wings I've ever found," wrote one Redditor. "These are amazing."
Another added, "These are the most versatile food in my freezer. I mix them with bagged salads, spaghetti sauce and some parm for ... chicken parm, with the butter chicken sauce for lazy Indian food, etc."
Costco sells a variety of frozen shrimp, but many shoppers opt for the store-brand version for the low price. Some shoppers specifically recommend the cooked, tail-off shrimp.
"Extremely easy [to prepare]," wrote one Redditor. "Just defrost and serve warm with your pasta, eggs, rice or ramen."
Another user chimed in, "My Costco hasn't had the cooked tailless the last few times I've looked! Hoping they come back so I can buy two bags."
Motor City frozen pizzas got numerous shoutouts on the Reddit thread, with many shoppers calling out the pepperoni flavor in particular.
"Those Motor City pizzas are better than they have any right to be," one Costco shopper commented.
Costco's version of a frozen breakfast sandwich features a spiral butter croissant topped with Applewood smoked bacon, egg and cheese.
"I read a while ago about them in this sub [Reddit] as being close to a Starbucks dupe," one shopper commented. "I actually like the Kirkland much better! The egg and bacon are perfect. And, compared to $6.25 per sandwich at [Starbucks], I save $34 per box."
While the Kirkland Signature frozen lasagna seems to be polarizing -- some shoppers love it, while others loathe it -- the store-brand spinach and cheese ravioli is one frozen pasta Costco fans seems to agree on.
"The spinach and cheese ravioli are and have been the absolutely best item from Costco," one Redditor commented. "[They] somehow feel like junk food or at least have the same level of addictiveness. So so good."
Another fan added, "Yes! And they freeze well! Ravioli boiled for four minutes with half a bag of asparagus and then tossed with pesto? Amazing."
