Twin Falls Pressurized Irrigation System to Begin Activation April 15

The City of Twin Falls will begin charging its pressurized irrigation system starting April 15. Water from the Twin Falls Canal Company will start flowing to pump stations over the following two weeks and all subdivisions should have water by May 1, 2025.

To get the most out of the water supply, avoid watering during peak demand hours, typically early mornings, to help prevent pump shutdowns.

When too many homes water at once, pump stations might overheat and temporarily shut off, leaving sprinkler systems with little or no water pressure.

You should spread out watering times over 24 hours, and schedule your system to run during your subdivision's low-demand hours.

Check current usage patterns using the "Flow Meter" tool on the city's website at TFID.org by selecting "Pressurized Irrigation Update."

To turn on your irrigation system, open the main irrigation valve near the sidewalk. That's what connects the city's lines to your system. As soon as you turn on your sprinklers, check for the following:

Reminisce all you want about drinking from the hose - pressurized irrigation water comes from open canal systems. It's untreated and NOT safe to drink.
