Search warrant turned up 30 pounds of marijuana in Prentiss County

BOONEVILLE, Miss. (WTVA) -- A search warrant turned up 30 pounds of marijuana in Prentiss County.

The bust happened on Thursday, Dec. 19; however, the investigation started the day before during a traffic stop on Highway 45, Prentiss County Sheriff Randy Tolar announced.

Deputies found a deer illegally killed in the back of the vehicle and charged Kevin Michael, 55, of Booneville, with several misdemeanors and possession of a weapon by a felon, the sheriff announced.

Deputies used a search warrant at Michael's house the following day where they found five guns and a large amount of weed, Tolar announced.

Michael additionally faces drug trafficking and manufacturing-related charges.
