GRAND BLANC, MI - A 66-year-old woman is in critical condition after she was found unresponsive in her Grand Blanc apartment early Christmas morning.

Authorities were called to Perry Place Apartments for a structure fire shortly before 5:20 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 25, according to the Grand Black City Fire Department, and arrived to find smoke coming from the door of a single apartment.

Grand Blanc police arrived moments before firefighters and found the woman inside, immediately removing her. The 66-year-old was taken to Hurley Medical Center, where she was listed in critical condition.

The apartment fire was brought under control close to 5:40 a.m., according to the fire department. Mutual had been requested from the Grand Blanc Township Fire Department.

No other injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire remained under investigation later Wednesday morning.
