A Middletown community is shaken Christmas morning after an fatal shooting involving an officer. Police say a suspect pointed a weapon at officers, leading to a deadly encounter.The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation says the incident unfolded around 7 p.m. on Christmas Eve.WLWT crews saw the Butler County Coroner arriving on the scene, indicating a fatal outcome.We're told officers were responding to a 9-1-1 call reporting a fight when the suspect allegedly pulled a gun, prompting an officer to open fire. Police radio communications shows how fast the scene unfolded.Dispatcher: "Two males physically fighting.'Dispatcher: "Shots fired."Officer: "CPR starting. He shared that the officers involved took swift action in a critical incidents like this one."This is a reminder of how dangerous police work is. We've seen a bunch of incidents involving vehicles, but the most police officers I think being killed today's society are being killed by firearms and that this, like I said, this is very unfortunate, but could have been much worse.
