RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) -- North Carolina's public school system will have a new leader starting in January. Moe Green, a Democrat, won the November election in the race against Republican candidate Michele Morrow.
The current Superintendent of Public Instruction, Catherine Truitt, sat down with CBS 17's Russ Bowen to talk about her four-year tenure.
Truitt talked about guiding more than 1 million public school students through the pandemic and virtual learning. She also outlined the efforts made to catch students up after any lost learning that occurred during that time.
Superintendent Truitt reflected on her other achievements and the challenges the incoming superintendent is likely to face.
