HONOLULU (KHON2) -- The Eddie Big Wave Invitational is on!

The start of the contest has been delayed to 9 a.m.

Liam McNamara, the event organizer, said the peak will come in around 10 a.m. to Noon and he feels theyʻre going to see 50 footers.

Each heat will include two wahine. The heat list is below:

Luke Shepardson, winner of the last contest, will compete in Heat 1.

HPD advised early Sunday morning that there was "significant traffic" in Waimea Bay and the surrounding areas for The Eddie.

Parking at Waimea Valley was full before 7 a.m. HPD advised spectators to use The Bus or watch online.
