As the final weeks of the NFL regular season play out, fans of many teams have begun looking forward to the offseason, while others hold out hops of a deep postseason run. For the Dallas Cowboys the playoffs are likely an impossibility, with a coaching change the far more likely outcome to a season that has them sitting at 6-8 ahead of hosting the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for Sunday Night Football at AT&T Stadium.
The playoffs are a real possibility for the 8-6 Bucs, however, as they sit atop the NFC South and enter the contest against Dallas sitting in first place in the NFC South. FanDuel Sportsbook has the Bucs as 3.5 point favorites over Dallas, with the over/under set at 47.5.
It's hard to overstate the disappointment for the Cowboys this season, given the expectations following a 2023 campaign that saw Dallas with a top five unit on both sides of the ball. The 2024 campaign is nearly the opposite, as the Cowboys defense is allowing points at one of the highest rates in the league, while the offense is in the bottom half of the league at scoring points after having led the NFL in points per game during 2023.
In short, expect the Bucs to come in and score a lot with the Cowboys unable to slow the Tampa offense, allowing the teams to hit the over, while the Bucs win and cover.
