BOSTON -- Beacon Hill leaders are facing renewed calls to repeal a law allowing undocumented immigrants to get drivers' licenses in response to a federal indictment alleging more than 600 undocumented individuals fraudulently received the official credentials.
Five individuals, including two Brazilian nationals, were recently indicted for allegedly conspiring to fraudulently apply for Massachusetts and New York drivers' licenses for more than 1,000 individuals who are living in the U.S. illegally, according to the Acting U.S. Attorney for Massachusetts Joshua Levy's office.
