CLACKAMAS COUNTY Ore. (KPTV) - An 18-year-old man was arrested Friday night for a shooting that injured a 15-year-old boy at the Clackamas Town Center, according to the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office.

Shortly before 3 p.m., deputies responded to the shooting in the mall parking lot on Southeast 82nd Avenue. They found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound in his hand, who was rushed to the hospital, where he is expected to recover, deputies said.

The suspect, identified as 18-year-old Pedro Anthony Cornejo-Morales of Gresham, ran from the scene but was found hiding behind a nearby building, according to deputies.

Shortly after 10 p.m. on Friday, Cornejo-Morales was charged with first and second-degree assault, second-degree attempted murder, and unlawful use of a weapon.

One shopper told FOX 12 that they were informed that they might have to wait two hours to access their car.
