Little Rock Compassion Center serves Christmas meals with a side of hope | Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

Christmas morning started early for Pastor William Holloway, founder of the Little Rock Compassion Center; his wife, Rosemary; and a small army of employees and volunteers as they began prepping for the day's three meals -- breakfast at 6 a.m., lunch at noon, and dinner at 4:30.

At least 700 meals were served on Christmas Day at the Compassion Center, which offers breakfast, lunch and dinner seven days a week, 365 days a year to residents of the center and anyone in the neighborhood in need of a meal.

Shavonjia Brown, 42, enjoyed her Christmas meal on Wednesday with her three children, 10-year-old Kaleb and 8-year-old twins Dakota and Aiden, along with 293 others who were at the center at noon for a sumptuous meal of turkey, dressing, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes and gravy, corn, green beans and three kinds of pie.
