No one injured after semi-truck hits train in Iowa County

The Iowa County Sheriff's Department says a semi-truck collided with a train at 9:02 a.m. Thursday morning, south of Main Amana on U.S. Highway 151, KCRG reports.Officials say a 19-year-old was driving a semi-truck and failed to notice the eastbound train approaching the crossing. The driver sideswiped a pickup truck that had stopped at the railroad crossing, and then collided with the train.No one was hurt, but the pickup truck had some damage, and the 2007 Kenworth semi tractor truck was a total loss.The train reportedly suffered approximately $2,000 in damage.The semi-truck driver was cited for failing to stop at an active train crossing.
