Softball: Our 2024 all-state team

Broomfield's Ireland Heer and Kiley Wheaton headlined the local softball talent on CHSAA's all-state team after a dominant run to the Class 5A state semifinals this year. The Eagles' junior ace, Heer, boasted a 1.42 ERA and 117 strikeouts while their infielder, junior Wheaton, was a master in the batter's box with a .607 average, 37 RBIs, 51 hits, 51 runs and seven home runs.

Fairview sophomore catcher Brooklyn Dangott and junior shortstop Julia Savage, Erie seniors Lyric Delozier and Lizzie Owens, Broomfield juniors Avery Gines, Lauren Martinez and Lilly Smith all had their names etched into the 5A honorable mentions.

Two of the best pitchers in Broomfield and Boulder counties, meanwhile, led the effort on 4A's first team thanks to Holy Family senior Isabella Arroyo (1.72 ERA, 179 strikeouts) and Niwot senior Kianna Butler (1.57 ERA, 222 strikeouts).

Jefferson Academy, for its part, enjoyed honorable mention selections for senior catcher/shortstop Madeline Scoggins and sophomore third baseman Ellie Arnold.
