Jan. 9 is the deadline to submit nominations for the Tehachapi's Finest awards program, sponsored by the Greater Tehachapi Chamber of Commerce and Tehachapi News.
Awards will be given for Tehachapi's Small and Large Business, Citizen and Nonprofit of the Year 2025.
Last year's Citizen of the Year was Stan Morgan, Large Business was Red House BBQ, Small Business was RJM Handyman and the Nonprofit of the year was the Tehachapi Cancer Foundation.
"Do you know an outstanding citizen, someone who through their community service or volunteerism makes a significant impact on the community?" asked Clare Scotti, chief executive of the chamber. "How about a small Tehachapi business (1-9 employees) that has contributed to the community through various efforts? Or a large business (10+ employees) that has demonstrated continuous involvement in the community or supported charitable organizations? Do you know of a local nonprofit that stands out in Tehachapi and benefits residents through their service. Take this moment to nominate them."
In a change this year, winners will not be announced until the chamber's gala event to be scheduled sometime in the spring.
Deadline for submission of nominations is 3 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 9, 2025.
