Crews searching for missing hiker near Embudo Trailhead

Search and rescue crews are looking for a missing hiker in the Albuquerque foothills.The 61-year-old, named Clint, was last seen Tuesday hiking near the area of Tramway and Menaul Boulevards, as well as near the Embudo Trailhead. "We got a call last night for a missing subject. He's a 61-year-old male and went out hiking a few days ago on Tuesday morning, and he hasn't returned," Bill Dyea with New Mexico Search & Rescue said. "We showed up this morning with our our K-9 teams and our ground teams and our drone team."There are 12 teams looking for Clint, including six dogs and a drone. In total, 32 volunteers are on the ground trying to find him.The drone is conducting an extensive grid search, looking for Clint or clues that may lead crews to him. It's able to scan a vast area in a short time and even scan for certain colors."We're looking for any clues where he's going off trail. He might have got lost or injured. He might have taken refuge in maybe one of these crevices. We're just looking all over," Dyea said. "He seems to be pretty fit, so we're pretty positive about it. We're hoping to find him soon, and the sooner, the better, of course."Clint was last seen wearing a dark color T-shirt, possibly gray, blue jeans, a dark baseball cap and brown hiking boots.He's 5 feet, 11 inches tall, weighs 220 pounds, and has blue eyes.If you see him, please call New Mexico State Police right away at 505-841-9256.
