Jacksonville City Councilman Coty Galloway will be resigning his council seat effective Jan. 13. He formally submitted his resignation at Monday's council meeting. Galloway occupies Place 5 and has served on the city council since 2016.

Council members Terry Wilson, Sherry Laster, Andy Green, Council President Tony Taylor and Mayor Johnny Smith each expressed their gratitude for Galloway's service to the city and best wishes for him and his family moving forward.
