High Point Deputy Fire Chief Jayson Valade said the fire was accidental and originated in a grill near the home.
He described the damage as "more than 50 percent." While he noted the difficulty in determining the cost of damages, Valade said the figure in this case was likely around $100,000.
Valade said he did not know how many people lived in the home. Fire crews spent around 20 minutes putting out the blaze and were on site a total of roughly three hours, he said.
