(KRON) -- A motorcyclist died after being struck by a pickup truck in Vallejo on Tuesday night, the Vallejo Police Department said.

The crash happened at about 11:21 p.m. at the intersection of Marin Street and Florida Street. The two vehicles were going in opposite directions on Marin Street and had green lights when the truck tried to turn left, failing to yield to oncoming traffic, VPD said.

The motorcycle crashed into the truck bed and its driver suffered life-threatening injuries. He died at a hospital.

The truck driver stayed at the scene and is cooperating with the police department's investigation. Alcohol and drugs do not appear to be factors.

The Solano County Sheriff's Coroner's is withholding the victim's identity until his family is notified.
