Akron, Ohio (WJW) -- A 40-year-old man was killed in a motor vehicle accident on State Route 8N at the Central Interchange Monday evening.

Akron EMS and the Akron Police Department responded to the scene at approximately 8:21 p.m. on December 23, where a vehicle had driven underneath a parked semi-truck trailer.

The collision pinned the vehicle against a guardrail, causing significant damage. Emergency crews used a crane to lift the trailer off the vehicle to extract the driver. Despite their efforts, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
