BEAVER DAM, Wis. -- A traffic pursuit started in Dodge County Sunday morning and finished in Dane County by arresting the individual who drove away from officers, police said.
A deputy from Dodge County Sheriff's Office noticed a vehicle that did not have a rear nor front license plate on S. Madison Street in Beaver Dam around 8:30 a.m. When the deputy tried to investigate if the vehicle had a temporary plate instead, the suspected driver allegedly went over 100 mph on Highway 151 southbound.
The driver went in excess speeds of 90-100 mph for more than 16 miles. A Columbus police officer deployed a tire deflation device on the suspected driver's vehicle on the right front tire of the car.
Because of this, the car gradually slowed and stopped at the interchange of Highway 151 and County Highway V in Dane County.
The 31-year-old driver faces charges of fleeing from an officer and a misdemeanor charge of operating after revocation. He was also arrested for three outstanding warrants from previous jurisdicitons.
Columbia County Sheriff's Office also assisted.
