In a lawsuit, Lyft accuses San Francisco of wrongly counting the money earned by drivers as company revenue from 2019 to 2023, as reported by Bloomberg.

"Lyft considers drivers as its customers," the complaint says, adding that its revenue consists of "fees paid to Lyft by drivers, not charges paid by riders to drivers." Earlier this year, Lyft won its fight to classify drivers as independent contractors rather than employees in California.
