CITYWIDE -- HELPING ALLEVIATE FOOD INSECURITY is also the topic of the New York Disaster Interfaith Services' upcoming Winter 2025 Faith Summit. NYDIS, a federation of faith-based service providers and charity organizations collaborates with Faith Sector Community Preparedness Program and NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene - Office of Emergency Preparedness and Response, NYDIS hosts annual training summits for religious leaders throughout the city. These summits, which feature presentations and interactive discussions, aim to increase knowledge on disaster preparedness and crisis leadership, while connecting NYC clergy to tools, resources, and partnerships. The Winter 2025 Faith Summit, taking place in-person at Metropolitan College of New York on West Street in Lower Manhattan, is titled "Nourishing NYC: A Faith and Community Call to Action on Food Insecurity." The summit's goal is to connect with faith & community leaders to strategize around collaborative solutions to reduce food security in NYC.
