A man was fatally struck by a vehicle on Empire Boulevard in Webster Tuesday morning.

According to Webster police, a driver was traveling east on Empire Boulevard when he struck a 69-year-old pedestrian who was standing in the roadway. The man died from his injuries at the scene, police said.

Officers responded to the scene at 2111 Empire Boulevard near Kirkland Drive at 7 a.m. on Tuesday. The roadway was temporarily closed but is now re-opened, police said.

Sgt. Mike Reed said that there does not appear to be any criminal element to the accident.
