A lot has been said about how Willard has figured out how to game the "system" to get into the NCAA Tourney and get a good seed by scheduling such a soft nonconference slate and winning by a wide margin.

I would argue that it is far too early to see if this schedule provides any kind of boost in NET ranking by season's end.

I think that how the Terps fare against Quad 1 & 2 games is a better predictor of NET ranking than how they beat up on cupcake teams. Picking up some road wins in conference will help with NET as well as winning against Quad 1 & 2 teams at home.

None of this is to say that I don't think they can earn a high seed (1-4) this year in the NCAA Tourney. I feel that this is Willard's best team so far in his short time as MD's coach. They have the talent and depth to finish very high in or even win the B1G outright.

I am just trying to provide some evidence that the work still lies in front of this team to make the most of their season and that running up the score on 300+ Kenpom teams in November and December will prove highly inconsequential by the time March rolls around.
