The Mesa Police Department was searching for a missing woman Wednesday evening.

Det. Brandi Myers of Mesa police said a police helicopter assisted officers searching for Theresa Lee Fisher, 76, a woman with Alzheimer's whose family was concerned for her safety.

She was last seen at 1:30 p.m. near her home in the area of Lindsay and McKellips roads.

Fisher left the area in a tan 1999 Toyota Camry with Arizona license plate 103DEL.

Fisher is described as a white woman with brown hair and eyes, stands 5 foot 6 inches tall and weighs 125 pounds, and she was last seen wearing a pink sweater and black pants.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Mesa police on the department's non-emergency line at 480-644-2211.

A police helicopter was seen circling numerous areas throughout Mesa to search for Fisher, including Main Street and University, and the Loop 101 and Southern around 6:30 p.m., according to FlightRadar24.

Myers said police had received a tip that her vehicle may be in the east Tempe area, but the lead proved to be unsuccessful.
