BRUNSVILLE, Iowa -- The Plymouth County Sheriff's Office on Wednesday released the name of a man who was found dead Nov. 20 in a burning pickup in rural Plymouth County.

The man was 79-year-old David Raymond Ruden, of Orange City, Iowa.

Emergency responders were dispatched to a fire near 160th Street and Impala Avenue near Brunsville the evening of Nov. 20. When they arrived, they found a pickup engulfed in flames. During the recovery, Ruden was found dead in the driver's seat.

A crash investigation showed Ruden had left the road and traveled for a distance in the ditch before getting stuck on the road embankment. The pickup then started on fire.
