Litchfield students of the week

Litchfield High School sophomore Paige Janorschke and freshman Zach Maurer were named students of the week for Dec. 8-12.

Janorschke was nominated by Marcia Ernst of the art department for her positive and can-do attitude, her creative outside-the-box thinking on photography and her ability to stand up for the underdog and fight against bullying. Ernst said Janorschke is possibly the most fanatic Minnesota Vikings fan in Litchfield. Janorschke is involved in student council, and enjoys the Minnesota Vikings, the Sartell Sabre Dance Team and helping others. Future plans include becoming an author, teacher, photographer or motivational speaker. She is the daughter of Joel Janorschke of Litchfield.

Maurer was nominated by Marsha Goraczkowski for the respect he shows himself, classmates and teachers, his willingness to help others and his ability to take challenges in stride. Goraczkowski said Maurer is always open to learning. Maurer enjoys spending time with his family snowmobiling, playing pick-up basketball, listening to music and playing video games. Maurer said he dreams of getting his pilot's license and becoming a crop duster. He is the son of Mae Maurer of Litchfield.
