WARTON, New Jersey (PIX11) - Parts of Interstate 80 were closed in New Jersey after a sinkhole opened up on the shoulder of the highway.
Emergency repair crews started responding to the scene around 7:30 a.m., according to 511. Due to construction work, drivers were stuck in traffic delays of 15 to 20 minutes.
All lanes on the eastbound side of the I-80 were later closed, causing traffic to be diverted off Exit 34.
New Jersey State Police urges drivers to find alternate routes as emergency teams fill the sinkhole.
