The eight-day Jewish holiday of Hanukkah, or the "Festival of Lights," will be celebrated this year from the evening of Wednesday, Dec. 25, through Thursday, Jan. 2.
In Tehachapi, as has been a tradition since at least 2012, a public menorah lighting will be held at 6 p.m. Monday, Dec. 30 -- the sixth night of Hanukkah -- in front of Moses Master Carpet, 110 E. Tehachapi Blvd. (across from the water tower in Railroad Park).
Moshe Mizrache of Moses Master Carpet said members of the local Jewish community and the general public are invited to attend the free event. It will feature live music, doughnuts and dreidels.
