The Trelawny police have charged three men following the seizure of an illegal pistol and ammunition on Ackee Tree Lane in Clarks Town in the parish on Sunday, December 22.

Charged with possession of a prohibited weapon, unauthorised possession of ammunition and the removal of a mark from a firearm are:

Reports from the Falmouth Police are that at about 12:05 am, lawmen were on patrol in the Ackee Tree Lane area when they signalled a white Toyota Axio that was in breach of the Road Traffic Act to stop.

The driver of the vehicle complied, and a search was conducted.

A Glock 9-millimetre pistol fitted with a magazine containing 14 9-millimetre cartridges was reportedly removed from the vehicle.

The driver and the two passengers were taken into custody.
