A person died after two vehicle collisions, one of which involving an out-of-service Metro bus, on the 110 Freeway in L.A. early Sunday morning.
According to CHP, officers responded to reports of a collision on the northbound span of the 110 at Manchester Boulevard just before 5 a.m.
Upon arriving, they located the vehicles involved in a crash and the deceased victim.
Whether they were inside a vehicle or on the roadway was not immediately disclosed by authorities, but Metro officials confirmed to KTLA that the bus - an out-of-service Metro Line 210 - had struck a pedestrian that had been ejected from an earlier crash not involving the bus.
The driver of the bus was not injured, and no passengers were onboard at the time.
A SigAlert was issued for the area that has since been cleared. Video from the scene posted to the Citizen App shows a massive traffic backup building before the sun had risen.
What caused the crash remains under investigation by CHP officials.
